What happened

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has started its July 2026 round of the Urban Consumer Confidence Survey. This survey asks households in 19 Indian cities about how they feel about jobs, prices, income, and the economy. A research agency called Hansa Research Group is conducting the survey on RBI's behalf.

Why it matters

The RBI uses responses from this survey to help shape monetary policy — that means decisions about interest rates and money supply that affect your loans, savings, and everyday costs. The more people participate, the more accurately the survey reflects real household conditions across urban India.

What to check

  • →Check if your city is among the 19 surveyed cities — Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jammu, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Patna, Raipur, Ranchi, or Thiruvananthapuram
  • →Find out how to participate voluntarily by visiting the RBI website and accessing the linked survey schedule mentioned in the press release
  • →Consider participating if approached by Hansa Research Group — they are the official agency authorised by RBI for this round
  • →Ask for the survey schedule to be emailed to you using the RBI contact details: 022-2657 8398 or 022-2657 8332
