Privacy and terms
How we handle your visit, what you can rely on, and what you should not.
Last updated 22 October 2026
This is not financial advice
The portal explains official decisions in plain language. It does not tell you what to buy, sell, borrow, invest in or file. Your situation is yours to judge. Speak to a qualified adviser, your lender, or a tax professional before you act on anything you read here.
What we collect when you visit
We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people read. It reports patterns across many visitors, not who you are. Analytics may set cookies in your browser. You can block them in your browser settings, and the portal will still work.
We do not ask you to create an account to read the portal.
Questions you type to the guide
Anything you type into the guide is used to answer your question. Please do not enter bank account numbers, card numbers, Aadhaar, PAN or other identity details. The guide does not need them.
If you use the Feedback button, we ask for your name and email so the editors can reply to you. They are stored with your note, the page name and your browser type. We use them only to reply to you, and we do not add you to any mailing list. Only the portal’s editors can read them. To have your name and email removed, send a note through the Feedback button asking us to delete your details.
Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We share information only when required by law, or with the service providers that run the portal on our behalf, such as hosting and analytics.
How far you can rely on a story
We take care that each story matches its official source, and a person reviews it before publication. Rules change, though, and a story can fall behind the latest notice. Check the official source named on each story before you rely on it.
Each story links to or names its source. The regulator’s own text is the final word on any rule.
Limits on what we are responsible for
The portal is provided as it is. We do not guarantee that every story is complete or current, and we are not responsible for decisions you make based on it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Our content and official sources
Our explanations, headings and design belong to the portal. Official notices, circulars and press releases belong to the bodies that issue them. Please quote our explanations with a link back to the story.
Links to other sites
Stories link to official government and regulator websites. We do not control those sites, and their own terms and privacy notices apply when you use them.
Changes to these terms
We may update this page. The date at the top shows when it last changed. Continued use of the portal after a change means you accept the updated terms.
